POLNEP KICKS OFF INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION WITH NORWAY

Pontianak State Polytechnic and Norway realized a joint project by performing Research Method Workshop on 30 May 2022. It is a part of Citizens Participation in Resource Governance and Sustainable Transition Program which conducted by Research Centre for Politics and Government (PolGov), Department of Politics and Government Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in collaboration with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and also supported by the Norwegian Program for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHED).

The workshop was officially opened by Director of Polnep H. Muhammad Toasin Asha. In his remarks, the Director said that the event is the implementation of international collaboration made between Polnep and Norway which has helped Polnep develop its human resources.

Furthermore, he hoped that the collaboration could give more insights to Polnep’s lecturers regarding multidisciplinary research. Not only conducting a workshop on research method, the event was also offered a research grant. Polnep, he added, is the one and only Polytechnic involved in this international project.

The program itself aims to extend research-based partnerships between Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) which includes Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB), Universitas Nusa Cendana (UNDANA), and Pontianak State Polytechnic (Polnep) as partners. The collaboration will last until 2026.

The workshop was attended mainly by lecturers of Aquaculture Study Program and representatives of lecturer from other study programs in Polnep. The event featured Dr. Ir. Yohana S. Kusuma Dewi, MP. As keynote speaker.
