PONTIANAK STATE POLYTECHNIC HOLDS ITS 32ND GRADUATION CEREMONY

Graduates of Diploma 3 and Diploma 4 Programs Achieve GPA 4.0

Pontianak State Polytechnic had conducted its 32nd graduation ceremony offline and successfully graduated 1556 graduates. The event was divided into 3 sessions, as follows: the 1st session for departments of civil engineering; mechanical engineering; electronic engineering; and architecture engineering was conducted on Thursday (30/9) at 07.30 to 11.30 Western Indonesian Time and inaugurated 602 graduates. The 2nd session for departments of Agricultural Technology; Fisheries and Marine Science was conducted on Thursday (30/9) at 13.00 to 14.30 Western Indonesian Time and inaugurated 338 graduates. The last session was conducted on Saturday (2/10) for departments of Accounting and Business Administration and inaugurated 616 graduates

“Today, Pontianak State Polytechnic inaugurates graduates from 21 study programs comprising of Diploma 1, Diploma 3, and Diploma 4 programs. I also proudly announce that we, currently, have 2 graduates with perfect GPA of 4.0, 1 graduate from Diploma 3 and 1 more from Diploma 4 program. In addition, I am happy to inform that our graduates are able to improve the GPA average and, in many cases, our students had been recruited while they had internship. This indicates that companies trust in Polnep students competencies,” said Director of Polnep H. Muhammad Toasin Asha on the occasion.

Moreover, Director Asha proudly told the audience that Polnep students were successful to win some prestigious competitions each year since Polnep really concerned about its students’ talent development.

On the other hand, we push our teaching staff to create innovation, especially for the last two years, when we had to conduct online classes due to the pandemic. In fact, we also have started the process to open applied master/graduate program here in Polnep. Especially, in the department which has many lecturers with doctoral degree background, such as Accounting and Business Administration departments.

Still on the occasion, the Head of Senate of Polnep Prof. Dr. Nurmala, in her remarks, said that people had to be familiar with changes happened due to industrial globalization 5.0 when everything went digital. “Especially, in the field of higher education, with the implementation of “Freedom Campus” policy, we have to get used to it when everything goes digital. It is expected to improve the quality of our graduates,” Prof. Nurmala said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Graduation Committee Muhammad Ali stated that Polnep had done its best to apply strict health protocol during the event. “Graduation is considered as the closing chapter of teaching and learning activities of students and we are happy to be part of that special moment of their lives,” he concluded.
