Accounting Department of Pontianak State Polytechnic held a workshop on How to Write an ISBN Registered Book on Monday (04/11) at the Accounting Hall. The main speaker of the workshop was Dr. Hj. Rani Siti Fitriani, S.S, M. Hum., a lecturer at the Master Program of Indonesian Language Teaching and Literature, Universitas Pasundan, who also serves as Director of Semiotika Publisher – Member of IKAPI, West Java. The event was participated by all lecturers of Accounting Department and some lecturers from other departments in Polnep.
The chair of the workshop Endang Kusmana, S.E., M.M., Ak., CA., in his report, stated that the event aimed to achieve one of the key performance indicators (IKU), numbers of lecturers’ output. One of programs planned by Accounting Department is to produce ISBN registered books. The management had sent letters to all lecturers informing them to write books and submit them to the committee. The workshop itself would expose tips and tricks on how to write and compile either teaching or text books and research results which could later be transformed into books. The main speaker of the workshop would highlight the newest publishing system of ISBN registered books which is different from the previous one. At the end of the session, reviews of books which were produced by lecturers would be conducted. Accounting department set a target of publishing 20 ISBN registered books by the end of 2024. “We highly hope this event brings us blessings and our sincere gratitude to Director of Polnep and Head of Accounting Department for all the supports,” said Endang Kusmana concluded his report.   
The event was officially opened by Director of Polnep Dr. H. Widodo PS, S.T., M.T. In his welcoming remarks, he hoped that other departments in Polnep could conduct same workshop. He also encouraged lecturers to produce ISBN registered books. This event is in line with Polnep’s goal in 2025, that is to support the implementation of digital library. Polnep will fully support in terms of infrastructure to realize digital library so that this new form of library will be able to bring benefits to all communities in Polnep. “In order to enrich the collection of this new library, feel free to make a request regarding what books that we should buy and subscribe,” said Director Widodo. To conclude his remarks, Director Widodo highly hoped the workshop brought many benefits not only to Accounting Department, but also to Polnep in general.
