Pontianak State Polytechnic (Polnep) continues to expand its cooperation with international universities. On this occasion, Polnep received a special visit from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), which took place on Wednesday (22/01) at the Rinjani Room of the Polnep Directorate Building.

Through the visit, Unimas aimed to strengthen the partnership between the two universities and open up opportunities for collaboration in various fields. One of the projects offered by Unimas is a bachelor's degree programme for Polnep's Diploma 3 students who wish to pursue their bachelor's degree. In addition, Unimas also offered a fast-track programme, which allowed students to accelerate their studies and complete their education in a shorter period of time. This is, of course, a good deal for students as it reduces their costs.

The cooperation between Polnep and Unimas is strengthened by a doctoral programme in which three lecturers from Polnep's Faculty of Architectural Engineering have participated and continued their doctoral studies at Unimas. In addition, the two universities also discussed ways of expanding cooperation, especially in the areas of improving the quality of research and community service, focusing on the areas with great potential, as well as examining the possibilities for Diploma 3 on the Business Administration and Computer Engineering study programmes. It is expected that all parties involved will benefit from these offers.

The Unimas entourage consisted of some university staff and was led by its Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit. The activity started with a welcome speech by the Deputy Director for Cooperation Affairs of Polnep Topan Prihantoro, S.T., M.T., followed by the speech of the Director of Polnep Dr. Ir. H. Widodo PS, S.T., M.T., MCE.

The event aimed to open new opportunities both in the field of education and human resource development through international cooperation. In addition, this cooperation programme is also expected to bring valuable insights and facilitate academic partnership between the two institutions.
