Academic society members of Pontianak State Polytechnic (Polnep) performed Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri prayer on Thursday (6/29). The Eid prayer was conducted in the parking lot in front of the building of Polnep’s Accounting Department. In addition to Polnep community, near-campus residents were spotted participating in the Eid prayer.
The prayer was led by Dr. H. Baidhillah Riyadhi. He also acted as khatib, delivered a sermon after the prayer. Dr. H. Baidhillah Riyadhi is one of lecturers at Polnep and also chaired Al-Hadiid Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM Al-Hadiid).
Following the Eid prayer, Director of Polnep H. Widodo PS. and management greeted the audience and invited them to enjoy the meals provided. For the current year, Polnep received 8 cows and 2 goats to be sacrificed. Afterwards, the sacrificial meats were shared with the community around Polnep campus.
Meanwhile, Director H Widodo PS. confirmed that the activity of performing Eid al-Adha prayer would be Polnep’s annual routine event. The activity would be a part of Polnep’s efforts to nurture values of devoutness, mutual respect, empathy, and social awareness to its academic society members.
