Polnep Strengthens Partnership Ecosystem for West Kalimantan Region Potential-Based Innovation Development

Director of Pontianak State Polytechnic (Polnep) H. Widodo PS. signed a contract as a Vocational Higher Education Institution (PTV) in charge of the Partnership Ecosystem Strengthening Program for Regional Potential-based Innovation Development on Tuesday (22/08) taken place at Millenium Hotel Sirih Jakarta. The program was organized by Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) as a platform of collaboration between vocational education unit with local stakeholders in order to create harmony through synergic partnership. The collaboration between vocational education, local stakeholders, business and industrial world (DUDI) in developing local/regional potential through sustainable partnership. The program was strongly supported by Educational Fund Management Institution (LPDP) when it comes to funding. Moreover, it was also supported and highly appreciated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) as an effort to develop local potentials through a variety of compatible and sustainable innovations.
The program also aimed to support revitalization of vocational education and training. Polnep became one of 20 PTV in charge for the program and also involved 65 others of both state-owned and private-owned PTVs from 27 provinces in Indonesia. Director General of Vocational Education Kemendikbudristek Dr. Kiki Yuliati emphasized on how important to face challenges of education following the Covid-19 pandemic. She said that vocational education is potential to bridge learning achievement gap caused by the pandemic. “In order to realize it, various efforts and partnerships have been made to create a systematic ecosystem,” she added.  
The kick-off event of Partnership Ecosystem Strengthening Program for Regional Potential-based Innovation Development was followed by foresight training, dynamic system, and also communication and mass media management which were attended by a consortium of work teams from each region.
